ADOPT A STUDENT PROGRAM

The “Adopt a Student” Program aims to enable the participation of students in situations of socioeconomic vulnerability in the 37th Brazilian Congress of Virology and the 21st Mercosur Meeting of Virology (37th CBV/21st EMV). Funding for this social initiative is obtained through sponsorships from companies, SBV members, and partners, as well as resources from courses offered by SBV. In this way, the program seeks to engage the scientific community and the private sector in promoting accessibility to knowledge in the field of virology.

In this edition of the program for the 37th Brazilian Congress of Virology and the 21st Mercosur Meeting of Virology, selected students will receive:

  • Up to R$1,700.00 for undergraduate or graduate students affiliated with institutions in the Northeast region of Brazil;
  • Up to R$2,000.00 for undergraduate or graduate students affiliated with institutions in the South, Southeast, North, and Central-West regions of Brazil;
  • Waiver of the registration fee for the 37th Brazilian Congress of Virology/21st Mercosur Meeting of Virology;
  • Lunch vouchers to be used during the days of the event.

IMPORTANT: The financial support and lunch vouchers will be delivered in person at the Secretariat of the 37th CBV/21st EMV upon signing a receipt by the beneficiary student.

  • Must have submitted at least one (1) scientific abstract to the 37th Brazilian Congress of Virology/21st Mercosur Meeting of Virology as the first author.

*Definition of scholarship: For the purposes of this call, a scholarship is any form of regular financial support intended for student maintenance, provided by funding agencies, educational institutions, foundations, public or private organizations, or research projects. Occasional aid, one-time financial assistance, or support specifically for event participation will not be considered a scholarship, provided it does not constitute regular income or employment.

Proof: The absence of employment and scholarship must be proven at the time of application through a declaration issued by the student’s educational institution. The organizing committee reserves the right to request additional documentation if necessary.

General provisions: Changes in the candidate’s academic, professional, or financial situation after application submission will not be considered for eligibility purposes. Providing false or incomplete information will result in disqualification at any time.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Students who have already registered and paid the registration fee may also apply. If selected, they will be reimbursed upon presentation of proof of payment.
  • Candidates not previously awarded in earlier editions will have priority.
  • If applying for more than one type of financial aid for participation in the 37th CBV/21st EMV, candidates must indicate their priority. Only one benefit will be granted if selected.
